The crowd is buzzing. The lights dim. Your heart is pumping as you sip an ice-cold beverage and scan the stage to catch a glimpse of the legendary performers about to emerge. It’s a feeling you can’t get anywhere else. It’s why we love summer rock concerts in Chicago.
At STS Concert Sound, we know a thing or two about incredible concerts. We’ve provided concert speaker systems, lighting and stage rental for some of the biggest acts in the industry. And we love going to shows just as much as we enjoy producing them. So, we’re always on the lookout for the next great show coming to our native Chicagoland.
What are the rock concerts in Chicago you can’t miss this summer? We’re glad you asked! Here are four shows we’ve already got our tickets for. See you there!

More About Weezer
Since its formation in 1992, Weezer has sold over 30 million records worldwide. Iconic, encore-worthy songs include “Photograph,” “Buddy Holly” and “El Scorcho,” but the band’s still going strong, continuing to release albums and EPs.
Before tours with Panic! at the Disco and the Pixies, Weezer released The White Album (2016) and Pacific Daydream (2017), both of which received incredible acclaim. In response to meme culture, Weezer also performed a cover of Toto’s “Africa,” which naturally earned them a fifth “#1” at Alternative Radio. At the start of 2019, The Teal Album included even more amazing covers.
Later, in 2021, Weezer released two almost opposite albums, OK Human, a pop album whose lyrics meditate on technology-induced isolation, and Van Weezer, a reflection on the metal scene of decades past.
Finally, in 2022, Weezer released an EP called SZNZ, which is based off Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

More About the Bands
Lynyrd Skynyrd is the perfect end to a Saturday night. From tone-deaf album covers to thick southern accents, this band is full of character. The very screech of a bald eagle isn’t as American as Lynyrd Skynyrd’s iconic tunes. This year, the band is also celebrating 50 years of rock and roll excellence, which should make this show particularly memorable.
As for ZZ Top, their fans have been enjoying their rock albums for over 50 years. The beards, hot rods and spinning guitars have practically become part of the music, breaking down language and culture barriers around the world.
Guns N’ Roses at Wrigley Field

More About Guns N’ Roses
Along with iconic mascot, Slash, Guns N’ Roses has been rocking out since its formation in 1985. While “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child o’ Mine” are essentially their own national anthems, Guns N’ Roses has recorded a whole lot more than that.
Albums responsible for Guns N’ Roses’ explosion of popularity in the ‘80s rock scene are generally considered to be Appetite for Destruction and G N’ R Lies. However, they also completed Chinese Democracy in 2008, so we guess you could call them rolling stones (unfortunately, the Rolling Stones aren’t performing in Chicago anytime soon, as one of their members, Charlie Watts, has recently passed).
Many years have passed since their last album, but they’ve been going on tour for the past decade. Creative tour titles have included Up Close and Personal, Appetite for Democracy, Not in This Lifetime and We’re F’N’ Back! And now their career brings them to Wrigley Field once again. We’ll see you there!

Come visit Wrigley Field to see Guns N’ Roses.
Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheater
In 2022, Rob Zombie tore across the country with his Freaks on Parade tour, during which he partnered with equally prolific freaks, such as Mudwayne and Powerman 5000. Traveling from venue to venue, these bands shocked and wowed audiences without letting up. As Rob Zombie continues his tour in 2023, he invites the eminent Alice Cooper.
If you’re interested in a Grammy-nominated performer’s unforgettable concert, check out Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheater at the end of the summer.

Since the ‘60s, Alice Cooper has honed his incredible skills not only as a musician who’s released 21 solo albums but as an energetic performer with a penchant for the creepy.
This summer, you can catch Alice Cooper achieving his usual stunts as he performs his biggest hits alongside Rob Zombie, an equally acclaimed musician who’s also succeeded as a film director!
